[ARCHIVED] Burn ban lifted; 4 p.m. Burn Law still in effect

4 p.m. burn law

The Fire Marshal has lifted the burn ban; however, the 4 p.m. burn law is still in effect until April 30.

From February 15 through April 30 there is no open air burning before 4 p.m.  The fire must be attended at all times.  No fuel may be added or fire started after midnight.  This law applies to campfires, warming fires, brush piles, household trash, stumps, fields and anything capable of spreading fire.  Before you light your fire call the Shenandoah County Emergency Communications Center at 540-459-6101 to report you are going to have a controlled burn.
